Nepal Earthquakes Remembered

On 18 May 2016 BNAC along with SOAS South Asia Institute (SSAI) organised an event in SOAS London to remember the earthquakes that struck Nepal on 25 April and 12 May 2015. It featured 10 short films and documentaries, 4 poetries and performances, two musical presentations, and some other presentations responding to the earthquakes. The event was opened with remarks and poetry recitation by SSAI Director Prof Michael Hutt, and finished with a round-table discussion on disaster management and reconstruction, with remarks from BNAC Chairman Prof David Gellner. The programme was coordinated by BNAC members Premila van Ommen, Feyzi Ismail and Stefanie Lotter.
